We are thrilled to announce that our hotel has been awarded the ibex fairstay label. This certification reflects our commitment to sustainability, environmental protection, social responsibility, and regional value creation.

For our team, this recognition highlights our dedication to running a sustainable and eco-friendly operation. It motivates us to continue on this path and strive for ongoing improvement.

The sustainable and careful use of resources is important to us and forms the basis of our daily activities. We fulfil our ecological responsibility in terms of building technology, operations and social aspects. Get an overview of a selection of our current measures:

• Regionality in purchasing (at least 70% of our food and beverage purchases) come from the region
   
• Seasonal lunch buffet with vegetarian and vegan options
   
• Water and shower fountains with filters that regulate water consumption
   
• Water dispenser use in the seminar area in the main building
   
• We have noticed that we throw away thousands of litres of water (half-full bottles that cannot be reused) in the evenings. The water dispensers offer the opportunity to enjoy fresh tap water without any effort or logistics
   
• Our hotel guests have had the option to forgo the stayover cleaning service. Many guests find daily cleaning unnecessary and no longer in tune with modern expectations. With a door hanger, each guest can decide how much cleaning they prefer.
  This choice helps us save water, reduce chemicals, and conserve energy—valuable contributions that allow our planet to breathe a little easier.
  We support the myclimate project "Fertile Soils as Natural CO₂ Sinks in the Lake Constance Region."

• Cooperation with Valida Garden
  The Valida garden team carries out the landscaping work for the WBZ infrastructure. Valida is a social enterprise based in St.Gallen that supports people with support needs in their work, education, living and leisure activities. Led by professional landscape gardeners, the team mows the lawn, cuts back plants, cares for the trees and much more. The maintenance work is carried out on a subscription basis. Everyone benefits from the collaboration. The WBZ benefits from the Valida garden team's many years of expertise, and in return it creates exciting work assignments, appreciation and income for people with support needs. Valida is not only a strong partner in Eastern Switzerland when it comes to garden maintenance.
